Unfortunately not everyone who visits Neopia are nice people. The wall of shame is a place where we post the latest ways people are trying to trick others. As a general rule anyone who asks for your password is trying to trick you. NeoPets staff will NEVER ask you for your password.

Badly spelt fake competitions
Messages such as this have been circulating the site. This is yet another person trying to get your password. Please do not give anybody your password and report anybody who has contacted you in this way!

"CONGRADS!!! YOU HAVE JUST BEEN SELECTED BY THE NEOPETS STAFF!!!! WE THE NEOPETS STAFF WILL MAKE YOUR PETS STRONGER FASTER ETC. AND YOU WILL RECEICE 200 NP EVERY DAY TILL 2001 AND RARE NEVER SEEN ITEMS.ALL I NEED IS YOUR PASS_WORD. DO NOT WORRY I AM HERE TO HELP AND BENEFIT YOU AND I AM PART OF THE NEOPETS STAFF. THIS IS NO SCAM TO GET THIS ONCE IN A LIFE TIME OFFER NEOMAIL ME BAC WILL YOUR PASS_WORD AND IN 1 HOUR YOU WILL SEE THE EFFECTS THANK YOU! PLEASE RESPOND ASAP

Virus
Some people are posting links to a program called neopoints.exe. Do not open this file. It is a virus!. IThey have deleted the account of the person who was spreading messages about this. If you see anymore please email abuse@neopets.com!

Fake Login Screens
A lot of people are copying our login box and tricking people into entering their usernames and passwords. Please make sure that where ever you see anything asking you for your username or password that it is on the neopets site. Look at the URL. If it says anything other than NeoPets DO NOT enter your details!

Fake NeoPets Staff accounts
Neopets Staff have just spent all morning freezing the accounts of people who are trying to trick others into sending them their passwords. NO MEMBER OF NEOPETS STAFF WILL EVER ASK FOR YOUR PASSWORD. Adam Powell will not neomail you, we do not have some mysterious virus that wiped our files, our sponsors are not having problems and no one other than 'theneopetsteam' is a member of staff. That means all the accounts like neo__staf-team or any combination of the words neo, staff, pets, team are fakes. If you get any neomails from anybody asking for your password, please report them to abuse@neopets.com and the neopets staff will remove them.


Trading:
Please be very very careful when trading items. Do not trade with anybody that you can not trust and never EVER reveal your password to them. If someone doesn't fulfil a trade we cannot refund your items. Sadly there are a lot of people out there who will try to trick you. If you want to switch items we recommend using a shop or the auctions as they are the safest ways to swap goods.There is now a trading Post were you can trade your items safley,
If you know of a scam, such as a shop that is forcing you to buy things or someone who is pretending to be NeoPets staff, or someone that is asking for passwords email abuse@neopets.com and they will post it here to warn others! Remember:
